The Water Trail Committee meets on the third Wednesday of each month after the Guardians of the West Fork meeting in the Harrison County Bureau of Emergency Services Building in Nutter Fort, WV.

Q.  What is a Water Trail?

A.  A water trail is a trail for boats, with public access launch sites established. 

Q.  Where is the West Fork River Water Trail?

A.  The West Fork River Water Trail is proposed to be established along 75 miles of the West Fork River, from the foot of the Stonewall Jackson Dam to Fairmont WV.  The West Fork passes through 3 counties (Lewis, Harrison, Marion), and 8 municipalities (Weston, West Milford, Clarksburg, Lumberport, Shinnston, Worthington, Monongah, Fairmont).

Q.  Who is leading the project?

A.  The Guardians of the West Fork Watershed, through their West Fork River Water Trail Committee.

Q.  What are the details of the route?

A.  Please download and read the Application for Water Trail Designation, and review the maps.  Public comments are requested by March 30, 2015.
